The State of the Union hybrid event in Florence
In 2021 the annual The State of the Union conference took place in Florence, as well as online. To successfully manage this hybrid format, the organization needed a trusted partner and asked us to execute the set for the online broadcasting and custom stage settings.
The State of the Union conference in Florence
The State of the Union is an international conference that has been taking place in Florence for the past 10 years focusing on the actual situation of Europe during this everchanging times. Usually, the event lasts three days and involves three different locations: the European University Institute, Palazzo Vecchio and Villa Salviati.
This year, due to the pandemic, the conference turned into a hybrid event. The event agenda was split into two different formats: online and in-person, some high-level speakers joined the conversations remotely such as the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
Online broadcasting and custom-made settings
Genius Eventi was asked, as supporting partner, to take care of the project for the online broadcasting of the conference, managing and dealing with all the other suppliers. We coordinated all the activities, we even built a television studio to broadcast the conference online just like a TV show, with a host to present every moment of the event.
We also designed and built the scenography needed for the stage, coordinating with the other partners. Our creative designer developed a custom render to match the space available and the technical needs of every supplier involved in the event.
The support of Genius Eventi to the event
Our staff was also there on the day to make sure everything ran smoothly both on stage and online. Each moment of the event needed a custom set up, so we took care of moving furniture on and off the stage, respecting the schedule.
This year’s edition was one-of-a-kind, a risk for the entire organization, but we successfully managed all the speakers, covering roughly 45 hours of recording and 3 parallel streams. We proudly contributed to the success of the conference and look forward to collaborating with this organization again in the future.
